Photo Contest Creates Scholarships

Photography is a form of art. Good photographs tell a story. The best are not staged with people lining up wishing they were somewhere else. But when light and creative imagination combine, there is potential for something very special to be recorded.

CES Kenya is continuing its goal to tell the story of freedom and hope in Kenya. To that end 15 CES Alumni participated in a photography contest. Winners will be selected from 100 entries by one of Canada’s foremost graphic and photo restoration specialists. The unique aspect of this contest was that students donated 2/3 of their prize monies (30,000Ksh) to create two secondary school scholarships.

Photos were reviewed from the following categories: Campus Life, Family Life, Village Life, Landscapes, and Open. The following photos show the calibre and creativity of students who had only a cell phone to capture the moment.
