Kakamega Voices | Benevolent Fund Update

At the onset of the COVID pandemic, CES created the Benevolent Fund in order to support our students and community in such a difficult time for all. The needs continue and we wish to provide more to other needy young people in the CES family.

Enjoy these notes of appreciation, recently received from our CES alumni in the field.

From Musli Wetende Busuku:

Am happy to report that yesterday I was lucky to host my friends from CES Kenya at Uzima House - Bushiri : CES grad and alumni chair Mr. Edwin Juma Nyongesa and Sarah Nabongo. It was a joyous moment. Am joyful to report that I received a support for Covid-19 pandemic from CES through them. Therefore now we're able to purchase the necessary protective gear against the Covid-19 virus as well as the infrared non-contact digital thermometer for screening the virus. In addition we now can purchase face shields and more masks and hand sanitizers. How good these visitors were to me. Be blessed dear friends. Thanks so much for the funds, these are greatly appreciated.

Note from Julius Omondi:

I just want to say a very, very big thanks to you for this truly awesome boost you blessed me with. I am indeed gratified by your care and heart of compassion to support me(Us), not only during this pandemic but as you've always had. You have stood by me and whole of the CES community in every times of our lives.

Sincerely speaking, the pandemic has drawn hardship into our lives and the hard life conditions seems to have doubled up. Your aid came in at the right time, in the most handy situation. The day before, my mother really thought what she would use to pay rent which was due for two months. Threats of being forced to vacate were all clear as we had been denied access to water and electricity ... Life really seemed hard. "The cash I have can't be able to pay rent and purchase food to feed all of us,” she told me. I had tried by all means to search and hustle, but all was in vain.

Thanks to CES, our rent is now settled. Once again, I'm grateful for your support.

Best Regards
